Tulane University’s Ophthalmology Ocular Oncology Clinic seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support eye cancer diagnosis and treatment. You will deliver direct patient care under a physician’s supervision and assist in delivering ophthalmologic care services, liaising with clinicians and vendors.

Background checks and health screening are required. Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of optical retail experience, ABO certification within first year, and BLS CPR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ABO Certification through NOCE within the first year of employment (with certification maintenance through CME courses)

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care under physician supervision.
• Assist in ophthalmology examinations in a high-volume department.
• Fill prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses and take accurate measurements.
• Maintain strict inventory control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and family members.
