Job summary

Cavanaugh Eye Center in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Medical Assistant (Ophthalmic Technician) who is willing to train and grow within our ophthalmology practice. You will assist doctors with preliminary testing, help verify insurance, and deliver friendly patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current COA or COT certification preferred, but not required.
• Ability to learn and grow, team-oriented and patient-focused.
• Reliable transportation to multiple work locations with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in preliminary testing.
• Verify medical and vision insurances.
• Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
