Job summary

Duke Eye Center at Erwin Rd in Durham is seeking an ophthalmic imaging assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment of eye diseases. You will perform fundus photography, OCT, and angiography, and assist with injections and patient care as needed.

The role involves training entry-level photographers on digital fluorescein/ICG angiography and other modalities, with day shifts Monday–Friday and no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year of ophthalmic imaging experience is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification within 6 months of employment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, slit lamp photography, and OCT.
• Familiar with ophthalmic terminology and proficient in navigating electronic medical records systems.
• Learning new modalities such as external photography, OCTA, basic B-scan ultrasonography, basic UBM, ERGs, Microperimetry.
