Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred.
  • Five years of related optometric/ophthalmic testing experience.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Compulink.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing (visual fields, corneal topography, ocular photography, etc.) as ordered by physicians.
  • Maintain/monitor Technology Service equipment; coordinate repairs.
  • Support quality assurance and OSHA/compliance activities.
  • Assist with HIPAA compliance in the Technology Service area.
  • Instruct students/interns on diagnostic testing procedures under faculty supervision.
  • Coordinate patient care during diagnostic testing for enhanced patient experience.
  • Provide support for pharmacy refills via the e-prescribe program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
