Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is hiring a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide anesthesia care in operating suites and ASC sites across the Phoenix metropolitan area, including Sun City, Scottsdale, Mesa and Phoenix. You will collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to develop individualized anesthesia plans and ensure patient safety through perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an accredited school of anesthesia.
• Current Arizona RN License
• Current certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists
• Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Thorough knowledge of ophthalmic anesthesia techniques
• 1+ years’ experience and/or demonstrated skills in peri-orbital anesthesia
• Knowledge of intravenous sedation administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Dedication to patient care
• Travel to other locations may be required – travel time and mileage are paid benefits!

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the operating room team
• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
• Provides information and emotional support to patients and their families
• Formulates an appropriate and safe anesthetic care plan for each patient
• Provides anesthesia care utilizing ophthalmic techniques (peribulbar, retro-bulbar, topical, local infiltration, IV sedation/analgesia)
• Assist in management of clinical emergencies in the surgery suite or eye clinic
• Participates in peri-operative patient care planning with physicians and nursing staff
• Maintains accurate records of anesthesia for each patient
• Alerts for restocking anesthesia supplies as needed
• Remains on premises until discharge from recovery area
