Job summary

The Retina Group of Washington, part of Prism Vision Group, is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to perform ophthalmic measurements and tests to support diagnosis and treatment decisions. The role emphasizes accurate documentation and excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and empathy with patients

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy
• Records ocular and systemic history and visual acuity
• Performs tests such as OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry as required
• Operates lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp with tonometry and other assessments
• Acts as a scribe entering data into EMRs or paper charts
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and patient flow
