Job summary

Milwaukee Eye Care Associates, S.C. seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our clinical team, providing patient-focused testing, documentation, and support to ophthalmologists and optometrists.

No prior ophthalmology experience is required; we will train the right person. You will welcome patients, perform preliminary testing, document in the EMR, and help prepare patients for exams across four Milwaukee locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmology or healthcare is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn and receive training on procedures and testing.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and obtain medical and ocular history.
• Perform preliminary vision and eye testing.
• Measure visual acuity, intraocular pressure, pupils, and other eye functions.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist physicians and providers during visits.
• Maintain clean, organized clinical areas.
• Continue developing ophthalmic knowledge through hands-on training.
