Job summary

CEENTA is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support Providers with comprehensive patient testing, exams, and in-office procedures. You will greet patients, collect history, and document findings in the EHR as part of a collaborative ophthalmology team.

The role involves performing tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction, assisting with OCT and other specialty testing, and maintaining clinic efficiency across multiple CEENTA locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year of Ophthalmology/Optometry experience recommended.
• ICA‑accredited training or IJCAHPO/AAO independent study encouraged.
• COA or COT certification preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Occasional travel between CEENTA sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and perform patient intake and vitals documentation in the EHR.
• Perform comprehensive ophthalmic testing and assistant with exams and procedures.
• Assist Providers with exams, treatments, and in-office procedures.
• Serve as a scribe when needed, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
• Maintain rooms, equipment, and OSHA‑compliant safety standards.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff and apprentices.
• Travel to other CEENTA locations as needed.
