American Vision Partners in Cottonwood, AZ seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to prepare patients for exams, gather medical information, and perform preliminary tests with a strong focus on patient experience.

You will work with doctors to support clinic flow, document in EHR, and assist with visual tests and basic procedures. The role offers a stable, full-time schedule, growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of Ophthalmology experience preferred.
• COA or COT is a plus.
• Detail oriented; reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced clinic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule Monday-Friday.

Responsabilités

• Welcomes patients and visitors with a warm disposition.
• Keeps doctors’ rooms filled to maintain clinic patient flow.
• Obtains patient histories through intake assessments and records in EHR.
• Performs visual acuity, auto-refraction, manual and automated lensometry, tonometry, and keratometry tests.
• Checks pupils, extra-ocular muscles, confrontational fields and dilates as needed.
• Runs diagnostic tests such as A-scan, OCTs and Visual Fields.
• Administers color vision and Schirmer’s tear testing as needed.
• Assists in minor office procedures (lasers, excisions, etc.).
• Educates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consent for procedures and surgery.
• Maintains exam rooms, including cleaning/sterilization.
