Job summary

Mercy Surgery Center Springfield, Missouri seeks a patient-facing assistant to greet patients, escort them, and gather ocular, medical and family history. You will support doctors during exams and minor procedures and help with testing.

You will assist screeners, scheduling techs and front desk, respond to patient calls, and perform related duties as assigned. A High School Diploma or GED is required; excellent telephone and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and escorts them to and from the examining rooms.
• Obtains ocular, medical and family history; assists doctor during exam or minor surgery as well as with any additional testing.
• Assists the screeners, surgery scheduling tech and front desk areas as needed; answers patient telephone calls.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
