Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintains patient records and schedules appointments in IDX.
• Answers phones, greets patients, verifies correct billing information and prepares chart for office visit.
• Assists with the clinical work up of patients, including visual acuity, applanation pressures, history, keratometry, autorefraction, color vision, stereopsis and EYESYS.
• Instructs patient in the proper care and insertion/removal of contact lenses. Modifies and/or polishes contacts.
• Maintains inventory of materials and cleans instruments. Maintains examination rooms and supplies.

Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment.

Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table.

Education & Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent certification or combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: No additional education unless stated elsewhere.

Certifications & Professional Licenses

Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Online BLS without skills assessment are not sufficient.

Preferred Certifications: No additional certification unless stated elsewhere.

Work Experience

Medical Office Setting: 2 years.

Preferred Experience: No additional work experience unless stated elsewhere.

Salary Range

$17.34 - $25.40 per hour.
