Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to prepare patients for exams, collect medical information, and perform preliminary tests under the physician’s guidance.

You will gather important measurements, assist with tests such as visual acuity and tonometry, document findings in the EHR, and help educate patients about conditions and procedures while maintaining clean, well-stocked exam rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of ophthalmology experience preferred.
• COA/COT is a plus.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients with a warm disposition and maintains patient flow.
• Gathers patient histories and documents findings in the EHR.
• Performs preliminary tests and measurements for the ophthalmologist.
• Assists in minor office procedures and patient education.
• Maintains exam rooms and sterilization procedures.
