Surgery Partners, Inc. in McKinney, TX is hiring a PRN ASC Ophthalmic Assistant to support our ambulatory surgery center. The role focuses on assisting with instruments, patient transport, case preparation and maintaining a sterile environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of medical assisting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and familiarity with EMR systems. The position offers flexible 1–2 days per week scheduling with team-based, fast-paced atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Medical Assistant preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework or Associate degree preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the order and cleanliness of the surgery center environment, supplies and instruments.
• Assists in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite.
• Prepares for surgical cases by providing the proper instrumentation, supplies, and equipment.
• May assist in assessing, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies.
• Provides necessary material, supplies, instruments and equipment in good working order for the completion of the surgical procedure.
• Disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces.
• Understanding basic ocular pharmacology; names of meds and their uses.
• Follows sterile technique protocols when appropriate.
