Job summary

Surgery Partners Brand is seeking an PRN ASC Ophthalmic Assistant in McKinney. The role supports surgical operations, prepares instruments, and ensures patient flow and safety within the clinic.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with EMR systems. BCLS is preferred, and bilingual ability is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification preferred.
• Proficient in EMR and computer literacy.
• Second language skills highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the orderly operation of the surgery center.
• Transport patients to and from the surgical suite.
• Prepare for surgical cases with required instrumentation and supplies.
• Assist in inventory management of supplies.
• Ensure sterile technique is followed and environment is clean.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA.

Now Hiring: PRN ASC Ophthalmic Assistant-McKinney

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in the order and cleanliness of the surgery center environment, supplies and instruments
• Assists in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite
• Prepares for surgical cases by providing the proper instrumentation, supplies, and equipment
• May assist in assessing, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies
• Provides necessary material, supplies, instruments and equipment in good working order for the completion of the surgical procedure
• Disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces
• Understanding basic ocular pharmacology; names of meds and their uses
• Follows sterile technique protocols when appropriate
• Other duties assigned
• Minimum 1 Year Medical Assistant preferred
• High School Diploma or GED
• BCLS preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skill
• Able to think quickly and be attentive
• Be able to work in a fast paced, team environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff members
• Must demonstrate commitment to ongoing educations and uphold to the highest ethical principles of maintaining confidentiality
