Job summary

Jimmy Jazz is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team and support patient care across multiple clinics in Idaho. You’ll work closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure accurate diagnostics, documentation, and a high level of patient service.

You will perform extensive eye care procedures, assist with injections, and document results in EMR. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are essential; ophthalmology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect thorough patient histories including chief complaint, health background, medications, and allergies.
• Perform key diagnostic procedures: lensometry, refractometry, tonometry (including tonopen), muscle balance testing, pupil and anterior chamber assessments, visual field testing, and more.
• Administer and document advanced tests such as OCT, topography, and visual fields.
• Assist physicians with injections and minor surgeries, ensuring proper setup and documentation.
• Scribe during exams and accurately enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Coordinate referrals, outside testing, and lab work.
• Educate patients and assist with medication management.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and calibrate equipment.
• Rotate between three clinic locations based on operational needs.
