Job description

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation

Part-time, 60% FTE day shift. Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 5:00pm, with some start times at 7:30am and end times at 5:30pm. No weekends. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay :

External hires may be eligible for up to a $2100.00 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant (Optometric Tech, COA, CPOT) to:

  • Perform visual testing in preventative and specialty eye care.
  • Create a safe and comforting environment for patients of all ages.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.

Additional Details:

  • Work Schedule: Part-time, 60% FTE, Monday - Friday, hours between 8:00am - 5:00pm, with some variation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program, Certified Medical Assistant program, or Licensed Practical Nurse program preferred.

Experience & Certifications:

  • Minimum 6 months customer service experience required.
  • 1 year as a Certified Ophthalmic/Optometric Assistant or Tech, CMA, or LPN preferred.
  • COA, COT, CPOT, or CPOA certifications within 1.5 years required.
  • CPR certification within 90 days required.
