Licking County is hiring for a full-time position in the Water/Wastewater Department, focusing on maintenance and operations of water distribution systems and treatment facilities. Candidates will perform routine inspections, maintenance, and emergency response while ensuring safety compliance.
Minimum qualifications include a certificate from a recognized institution and a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. The role entails working closely with the public and undergoing pre-employment screening.

Hours: Full time, M-F, 35 hour week, regular work hours 7:30 AM-4PM, must be available in the event of an emergency with occasional weekends, holidays and on-call with additional compensation
Summary:
Performs necessary functions of the daily operations and maintenance of water distribution systems, sewer collection systems and water and wastewater treatment plants.
Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
One year certificate from college or technical school; and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and air brakes.* Physical mobility, lifting, and exposure to hazardous conditions.
*May be acquired after hire and obtained prior to the end of the probationary period.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
Ohio EPA Class I Water and Class I Wastewater Certificates are preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic Water & Wastewater testing is also recommended but not required. Candidates must be able to relate to the public in a professional manner. Candidate should have general knowledge of plumbing, electrical and septic tank operation. Candidate should be a fast learner and be able to adapt to changing work demands.
