Job summary

Kokosing Construction is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and support heavy equipment operators for safety, productivity, and quality on a Shippingport, PA project.

You will train new operators, mentor experienced crews, inspect equipment, and work with management, unions, and vendors to ensure the right fit and timely repairs. A minimum high school diploma and five years’ operator experience are required; Operating Engineers Union membership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma with at least five years’ experience as an operator in construction industry.
• Member in good standing of the Operating Engineers Union.

Responsibilities

• Train and support the development of new operators to improve equipment operation skills.
• Work with experienced operators to keep skills and training up-to-date and coordinate with field management.
• Maintain good working relationships with operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management for effective communication in field operations.
• Provide management recommendations regarding operator placement for best fit and company benefit.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure operators understand proper processes and report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Monitor equipment usage to ensure operation within rated capacities.
• Maintain relations with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to hire qualified operators.
