General Description

The Operator is responsible for completing assigned production duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Operator supports all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor/lead. The Operator is also competent in forklift operations and line operations, and begins to train on key areas such as fillers, milk receiving, batching processing, and palletizing. The Operator covers breaks and lunches as assigned. The Operator supports the manufacture of dairy related products.

Job Responsibilities

• Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
• Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, assist with resolution.
• Comply with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and plant policies and regulations.
• Operate forklift and line operations; begin training on key areas (fillers, milk receiving, batching, palletizing).
• Learn line circuits and proper hookups.
• Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs per supervisor.
• Comply with all legal requirements for dairy processing and safety; report concerns.
• Work safely and report safety concerns, take corrective actions.
• Report food safety problems, support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality.
• Keep work areas sanitary; adhere to sanitation practices.
• Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments.

Essential Knowledge, Skills

• Apply basic to complex math concepts, knowledge of weights and measures.
• Understand and respond to employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of company mission, purpose, goals.
• Operate facility equipment as required.
• Complete all company training.
• Interpret company documents, literature, and UPC/code information.

Work Schedule

• Morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day; shifts based on assignment.
• Off days require advance notification and approval.
• Hourly: Generally 40 hours; extra hours possible.

Environmental Concerns

• Exposure to weather changes, hot/cold/wet/humid/windy conditions.
• Exposure to food ingredients including allergens.
• Exposure to chemicals used in food processing and sanitation.

Physical Job Requirements

• Move throughout all facility areas and outside perimeter.
• Wear required protective equipment.
• Stand or sit continuously for a full shift; handle meal breaks.
• Lift and move items up to 50 pounds; handle >50 pounds with accommodations.
• Maintain visual acuity required.

Compensation

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Pay range: $20 - $20 USD.
