Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership necessary for achieving plant and corporate goals in the area of Production, Safety, Quality, Employee Relations, Performance, and Cost for your assigned shift.
- Responsible for the successful attainment of production objectives, execution of policies, and most effective utilization of available resources on your assigned shift.
- Support employees by coaching, mentoring and assisting in resolving mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement in all areas while balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
- Enforce GMPs and ensure strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant Policies, rules, and regulations on your shift and administer coaching and corrective action as necessary.
- Validate the proper training and development of employees and ensure that they comply with all SOPs on your shift.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, safety, and working conditions on your shift.
- Report food safety problems, initiate action, and support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality, managing job tasks, and ensuring work areas are sanitary and biosecurity measures are administered.
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment, including an open-door program and resolving simple to moderate workplace concerns.
- Ensure effective communication between shifts and other departments.
- Interview and hire for assigned areas, provide employee coaching, corrective action, development plans, and resolve employee issues.
- Schedule employees on your shift and use proper labor scheduling to meet budgeted and forecasted objectives.
- Ensure safety compliance, conduct accident investigations, and issue retrains in a timely manner.
Essential Knowledge, Skills
- Apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure to handle job tasks.
- Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
- Read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform job functions.
- Understand HP Hood’s mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving them.
- Operate facility equipment as required in the assigned area.
- Complete all company training requirements satisfactorily.
- Interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
Performance Standards
- Report to work at scheduled times and communicate tardiness and absences with the assigned supervisor/manager before they occur.
- Report to work in a condition fit for work.
- Maintain well-groomed appearance and wear business-appropriate attire, complying with GMP dress code standards.
- Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook.
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern.
- Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Work Schedule
- Requires 5:00 pm–5:00 am, D‑Shift; additional hours based on business need.
Environmental Concerns
- Normally protected from weather and temperature changes; possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions may occur.
- May be exposed to ingredients used in food product manufacture, including allergens.
- May be exposed to chemicals involved in manufacturing and sanitation of a food processing facility.
Physical Job Requirements
- Move throughout all facility areas, including office, production, and warehouse environments, and the building’s perimeter.
- Wearing necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds; move heavier items with reasonable accommodations.
- Has corrected visual acuity sufficient for job functions.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $77,800 – $89,300 USD, depending on skills, experience and location.
