Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Control Room Operator to safely operate the cooker and rendering equipment and to meet food safety plan requirements. You will inspect equipment daily, communicate issues to management, and monitor bins and finished products for safety and efficiency.

You’ll handle mechanical monitoring, assist maintenance, and perform housekeeping. The role requires clear communication, readiness to cross-train, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a 5:30 AM–6:00 PM day shift.

Qualifications

• Must possess an understanding of the fundamental principles of manufacturing.
• Must have effective communication skills.
• The employee is required to lift a minimum of 50lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cooker and rendering equipment to produce a quality product per safety and production requirements.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure safe operation and performance specs.
• Communicate safety or production issues to management promptly.
• Monitor raw material bins, flow ways and finished storage bins for safety and efficiency.
• Monitor mechanical systems and report any issues; assist maintenance as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties in assigned areas and support cross-training.
• Adhere to safety, drug, alcohol and background check policies as required.
• Possess strong oral and written communication abilities.

Job description

The Control Room Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the cooker and associated rendering equipment to produce a high quality finished product that will meet all food safety plan and production requirements.

• Responsible for daily inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation, food safety and performance specifications.

Employee is responsible for communicating any issues with safety, Food safety plan or and production limitations with the management team.

Operator will monitor raw material bins, flow ways and all finished storage bins, to ensure proper food safety and production efficiency.

Must monitor all mechanical systems to report any safety, food safety plan or mechanical issues, and be able to react accordingly.

Preforms all necessary housekeeping duties in assigned areas.

May have to assist maintenance.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Must be capable of communicating in both oral and written formats.

Must have an understanding of the fundamental principles of manufacturing.

Must possess effective communication skills.

The employee is required to lift a minimum of 50lbs. The employee is often required to stand, sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Close vision acuity capability required for this position. Ability to cross-train personnel to replace position in the event of absence.

Schedule

Day Shift 5 :30 AM- 6:00 PM

Operate on a 2 - 2 - 3 schedule (Every other Friday, Saturday, & Sunday off)

Pay

$18.10hr
