Job summary

Feed Energy Company in Sioux City, IA is seeking an as-needed operator for a 5 PM–5 AM shift on a 2-2-3 schedule. Base pay starts at $21.00/hour with a $1.60 shift differential and quarterly bonuses. Training is Monday through Friday, 2 PM–10 PM, for about 3 months before transitioning to the shift.

This role requires a background check and drug screen. The position emphasizes safety, production, and quality control in a dynamic plant setting with generous benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and write English and perform basic calculations.
• Experience with computer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows all SOPs during daily operations.
• Inspects safety equipment and maintains safety standards.
• Prepares machinery for operation.
• Keeps records and logs of plant operations.
• Operates valves and pumps to move products between tanks.
• Monitors temperatures, pH, and processing times.
• Monitors product for quality and takes samples as required.
• Unloads and loads trailers and rail cars.
• Operates shag tractor to spot trailers.
• Housekeeping duties as assigned by Shift Lead and Management.
• Demonstrates company values in everyday work interactions.
• All other duties as assigned.

This position's shift works 5 PM- 5 AM on a 2-2-3 schedule. Operators start at $21.00 per hour, with an additional $1.60 shift differential. Operators are eligible for quarterly bonuses, as well! Training will be on a M-F basis from 2 PM - 10 PM, Sunday - Thursday, for about 3 months before going to shift.

This position must pass a background check and drug screen.

What you will do

• Follows all standard operating procedures during daily operations.

• Prepares machinery for operation.

• Operates all valves and pumps associated with plant production systems to move products between tanks.
• Monitors temperatures and pH of products, and processing and transfer times of products.
• Monitors product for quality assurance, takes and maintains product samples as required under procedures.
• Unloads and loads trailers and rail cars.
• Operates shag tractor to spot trailers.
• Responsible for housekeeping duties as assigned by Shift Lead, Operations Supervisor and Plant Management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to operate computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, PIMS, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and write English and perform basic mathematical calculations
