Job summary

Select Water Solutions seeks a Mud Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment at the disposal site. You will monitor pits, retrieve oil, unload lines, and generate disposal documentation while adhering to environmental and safety rules.

You must thrive in a demanding field environment, work 12-hour shifts and weekends as required, and communicate clearly with the Operations Manager and night attendants. Company benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavators and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mud plant and ensure safe, efficient equipment operation.
  • Monitor pit levels and silo levels; maintain disposal area upkeep.
  • Retrieve oil from working pits/tanks and manage line unloading.
  • Generate third-party tickets and paperwork for disposal compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with county, state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate status and issues during shift handoffs; attend meetings.
  • Follow company policies; maintain neat, safe work area.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions; support teamwork.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Select’s Mud Plant Operator is responsible for assuring safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment. Maintain quality control and assure complete compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing environmental compliance, worker safety and underground injection well regulations.

  • Overall maintenance, upkeep and appearance of disposal area.
  • Monitor pit levels and silo level.
  • Retrieve oil from working pit/tanks.
  • Unload lines, discharge and relieve valves or other equipment related to disposal of fluids.
  • Generate and document third-party tickets and other forms of documentation in support of disposal.
  • Meet compliance requirements with county, state, and federal regulatory rules and regulations.
  • Ensure smooth transition from day to night attendants: communicate current status and potential issues prior to end of shift.
  • Attend company meetings as requested.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Improve utilization efficiently, driver compliance.
  • Ensure immediate work area is neat and orderly to ensure safety of workers.
  • Report and correct unsafe conditions of practices.

Compensation Information

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Exposures
  • Work is always performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
