Job description

Job Description: Shift Machine Operator

Produce parts by operating the assigned machine. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material, and operating instructions before and while running operations and equipment.
2. Produce and inspect parts against drawings and specifications within the allotted time; ensure product meets specified quality standards.
3. Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and fixtures/gauges, to check work against drawings.
4. Verify initial product quality checks and complete all processing operations.
5. Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon completion of tasks.
6. Lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, load/unload objects as needed.
7. Stand and operate machinery throughout the shift, except during scheduled breaks.
8. Demonstrate safe work habits.
9. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

1. Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
2. Detail-oriented.
3. Ability to manage time with minimal supervision; self-motivated.
4. Basic math skills.
5. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
6. Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience.

Shift Differential:

Additional $2.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
