Job summary

Job Description

The Impact You'll Make

The primary function of this position is to operate the unwrapper machines.
This is a 2nd Shift position, working Monday through Friday - 2:45 pm to 11:00 pm.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform Unwrapper Operator service functions, including monitoring tape during unwrapping and cutting/bonding tape to remove defects.
  • Verify proper operation of the spray system, OD monitoring system, and eddy current system.
  • Monitor production quality by checking tape packs, ensuring defects are identified and marked by the spray system, and inspecting tape condition.
  • Maintain operating supplies by checking MEK ink levels and refilling as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and work within all safety and quality guidelines.
  • Support team flexibility by assisting other operators, cross-training as needed, and performing other assigned duties.
What We're Looking For

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications

  • One (1) year manufacturing experience

Job Criteria and Environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal personnel and external personnel
  • Frequent dealing with reels and the unrapper is only moderately large.
  • Workspace is very loud and hot, near autoclave.

Safety

  • Risk of pinching when loading/unloading reels; use caution and gloves.
  • Safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes required at all times.
  • Gloves required when moving reels, handling knives.

Tools

  • OD tape for quality checks.
  • Allen Wrench (to remove barrel inside machine)
  • Crescent Wrench/ screwdriver
  • Drill (to remove tape pack)
  • Bonder (to melt/glue tape strips together)
  • Hoist (to move full tape packs)

Physical Activity

  • Entire shift is spent walking or standing.
  • Some heavy lifting: Moving autoclave reels, which are approximately six (6) feettall.
  • Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
