Lindy Paving in the Pittsburgh region is hiring an Operator/Laborer for the 2nd Avenue plants in New Kensington and Neville Island. You'll be hands-on in asphalt production, operate mobile equipment, and support maintenance.

The role requires 2+ years of plant production with aggregates, welding ability, and union eligibility; we offer union wages and full benefits, with a path to grow mechanical and welding skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of plant production experience with construction aggregates (sand, gravel, or similar).
• Welding ability required.
• Solid communication skills – read signs/signals and follow instructions, spoken and written.
• Willingness to join the union local and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Handling construction aggregates and materials like sand and gravel.
• Working with hands and power tools – gas, electric, and compressed air.
• Operating mobile equipment: sweeper, forklift, bobcat, yard truck, water truck, and more.
• Helping with preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and vehicles – including welding.
• Keeping plant areas clean and organized.
• Pitching in wherever the team needs an extra hand.

Physical requirements include:

Must have correctable vision with reasonably good night vision. Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 100 lbs. occasionally and /or 25 to 50 lbs. frequently and /or 10 to 20 lbs. constantly to move objects. Requires manual dexterity and ability to bend, twist, turn, stretch, squat, kneel, sit and stand for extended periods. Must be able to work in elevated, enclosed and sometimes hazardous areas in changing weather conditions.
