Job Overview
The Role As an Operator In Training, you’re the person who keeps our lines running clean, safe, and on-spec. You’ll start on a structured 4‑week training program that takes you from Day 1 onboarding through full sign‑off as a certified Operator including forklift certification, lock‑out/tag‑out, allergen training, and hands‑on time at every major station. Once trained, you’ll independently run production lines, troubleshoot equipment issues, document quality checks in our ERP system, and help mentor newer associates.
Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment across Bottling, Bartelt pouching, Matrix labeling, and Blending lines—startup, run, troubleshoot, and shutdown.
- Perform hourly quality checks: weigh checks, metal detector verifications, lot code accuracy, label and seal inspections.
- Document production activity in our Deacom ERP system, issue materials, receive finished goods, and complete batch records.
- Make equipment adjustments (fill weights, label alignment, seal temperatures) to keep product on‑spec.
- Support sanitation and allergen changeovers between batches with food safety as the top priority.
- Operate forklifts and power stackers safely (certification provided if not already certified).
- Communicate with Leads, QA, and Maintenance to resolve issues quickly and keep the line moving.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, and OSHA requirements without cutting corners.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs in a temperature‑variable plant environment.
- Comfort following written and verbal instructions in English (or Spanish, as we are a bilingual workplace).
- Basic math skills (counting, weighing, simple unit conversions such as ounces to grams).
- Willingness to learn equipment, software (Deacom ERP), and food safety standards.
- Forklift certification (certification provided in Week 1 if not).
- OSHA 10 General Industry card.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, or allergen management.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
Nice to Have (Not Required – We’ll Train You): prior experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or any production environment.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay: $20-22/hr based on experience, with shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
- Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and paid holidays.
