Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is seeking a production team member for our Iowa facilities. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping in daily dairy production operations.

You will load and unload trucks, assist on the cheese packaging floor, and maintain shipping records, with regular inventory checks and strong teamwork with drivers and office staff.

Qualifications

Job description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Safely operate forklifts, following all policies and procedures.
  4. Load and unload trucks.
  5. Maintain shipping and receiving records.
  6. Verify correct products are shipped out.
  7. Responsible for monthly inventory check.
  8. Maintain excellent communication with office employees and truckers.
  9. Assist on the cheese packaging floor as required.
  10. Document and communicate deficiencies to leads and management.
  11. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs.
  12. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment and supplies in your work areas throughout the plant.
  13. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and effectively communicate to others.
  14. Assist with training new employees.
  15. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  16. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  17. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
