The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth location in the electrophysiology division (EP).
Main Purpose of Role
As an Operator II, you’ll work under direct supervision, performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.
What You’ll Work On
- Perform Casting/Coating functions.
- Examine medical devices and related assemblies after molding operations to locate bubbles, nicks and/or excess epoxy.
- Utilize small drills, reamers, taps, and knives to access bubbles and remove excess epoxy.
- Patches and repairs bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools; bake parts to cure epoxy patches.
- Perform Mechanical Assembly functions.
- Kits, assembles, bonds, coats, and processes medical devices and related parts using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Locate and correct problems by examining devices and components and visually inspecting parts/assemblies.
- Repair and correct devices and related components using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Perform Packaging Functions.
- Kits, assembles, and packages devices and related accessories using applicable tools.
- Locate and correct problems using a microscope and applicable tools.
- Review all device documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- May set‑up/utilize special test equipment.
Work Shift
Monday – Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am with potential overtime; Shift type: Standard.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Typically, two plus years of relevant training/experience in medical device assembly.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required; this includes clear, understandable speech and demonstrated comprehension skills.
- Must have the ability to on occasion lift up to approximately 25 pounds.
- The ability to work overtime is required.
- Previous microscope experience is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- AA degree in Electrical/Mechanical Technology, or comparable specialized training in and working knowledge of the manufacture of implantable medical devices or equivalent is desired.
- Five years or more of medical device or related assembly experience is preferred.
Salary
The base pay for this position is $15.55 – $31.15/hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
