Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Operator I to support casting, coating, mechanical assembly, and packaging of medical devices in the EP division. The role involves inspecting molds, patching defects, and ensuring documentation accuracy.

The position operates on a Monday-Thursday shift from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, with overtime potential. Based in Plymouth, MN, you will work under direct supervision to perform routine manufacturing tasks, maintain safety standards, and contribute to quality control across

Responsibilities

• Performs Casting/Coating functions.
• Examines medical devices after molding to locate bubbles, nicks or excess epoxy.
• Accesses bubbles and removes excess epoxy with small drills, reamers, taps, knives.
• Patches and repairs bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools; bakes parts to cure epoxy patches.
• Performs Mechanical Assembly functions.
• Kits, assembles, bonds, coats, and processes devices using microscopes and applicable tools.
• Locates and corrects problems by visual inspection of parts/assemblies.
• Repairs devices and related components using microscopes and tools.
• Performs Packaging Functions.
• Kits, assembles, and packages devices and related accessories.
• Reviews device documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• May set-up/utilize special test equipment.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN, location in the Electrophysiology (EP) division.

Main Purpose of Role

As an Operator I, you’ll work under direct supervision, performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.

What You’ll Work On

• Performs Casting/Coating functions

• Examines medical devices and related assemblies after molding operations to locate bubbles, nicks and/or excess epoxy

• Utilizes small drills, reamers, taps, and knives to access bubbles and remove excess epoxy

• Patches and repairs bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools; bakes parts to cure epoxy patches

• Performs Mechanical Assembly functions

• Kits, assembles, bonds, coats, and processes medical devices and related parts using microscopes and applicable tools

• Locates and corrects problems by examining devices and components and visually inspecting parts/assemblies

• Repairs and corrects devices and related components using microscopes and applicable tools

Shift

Monday - Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:30 am with potential overtime

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures; understand and follow verbal instructions - Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages

• Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance

• Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts

• Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision

The base pay for this position is
