Job summary

Cacique Foods LLC in Amarillo, TX is seeking an Operator II to operate, monitor, and maintain food production equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Shift Times: 9pm-5:30am. You will ensure product quality, report deviations, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining GMP/HACCP and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or product defects and escalate as needed.
  • Adjust machine settings (temperature, speed, ingredient flow) as needed.
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to SOPs.
  • Inspect products for quality and consistency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per GMP/HACCP and PPE protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Assist in training new operators or temporary staff and participate in cross-training.
  • Record production data, including quantities, lot numbers, and any deviations.
  • Participate in sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Operator II

Regular Full-Time Amarillo, TX, US

SUMMARY: Operator II is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining food production equipment and processes in accordance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role supports the efficient transformation of raw ingredients into finished food products while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company procedures.

Shift Times: 9pm- 5:30am

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or product defects and escale as needed.
  • Adjust machine settings (temperature, speed, ingredient flow) as needed.
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Inspect products for quality and consistency
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analyzes Critical Control Points (HACCP) and follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Assist in training new operators or temporary staff. Participate in and apply training and cross-training opportunitiesin accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Record and sign off on production data, including quantities, lot numbers, and any deviations.
  • Participate in sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum (2) years of experience in food manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is a plus
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Required to maneuver plant and warehouse workspaces which involve:
  • Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing
  • Frequently work around loud machinery and moving parts
  • Continually utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet, and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds safely
