Job summary

Chandler Industries LLC is seeking a CNC Operator for its second shift (4:20 pm-2:50 am, Mon-Thu) at our Minnesota facility. You will set up and run CNC machines, deburr parts, and document quality checks per the control plan.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading parts, inspecting against blueprints, and maintaining tooling and machine upkeep. Strong math and blueprint reading skills are required along with a willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills (i.e., addition, subtraction, decimals).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, oral communication and comprehension in English.
  • Ability to learn basic blueprint reading.
  • Ability to learn basic inspection skills.
  • Ability to adjust offsets if required.
  • Ability to operate multiple machines.
  • Willingness to learn; punctual and good attendance.
  • Cooperative attitude; asks for help when needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Ability to learn basic machine axis.
  • Must pass annual visual exam (20-20, corrected, uncorrected, one eye).

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to perform one or more functions on various materials to produce parts.
  • Review order, control plan, router, job traveler, and inspection instructions for sequencing and dimensions.
  • Load and unload work-pieces.
  • Perform piece inspections, verify accuracy against blueprints using basic gaging.
  • Perform surface finish operations by sanding and deburring.
  • Monitor work-pieces and equipment for issues during machining.
  • Maintain coolant and hydraulic oil levels; perform routine PM checks.
  • Handle inventory and movement of material, tooling, and pieces.
  • Keep a clean, organized, safe workspace and follow 5S and safety rules.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP system for data collection and time/attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift:

Second Shift: 4:20 pm-2:50 am, Monday-Thursday

Position Summary:

Operates and adjust CNC machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations. Deburr parts, perform and document quality checks per the control plan. Replace tooling as necessary and perform general machine maintenance.

Requirements
  • Operate CNC machines to perform one or more machine functions on a variety of materials to produce parts and components.
  • Review order, control plan, router, job traveler, inspection instructions to determine sequencing, finished work-piece dimensions, and numerical control sequences.
  • Load and unload work-pieces.
  • Performs work-piece inspection checking accuracy against blueprints/specifications using basic gaging techniques for product conformity.
  • Perform surface finish operations by sanding and deburring.
  • Monitors work-pieces and equipment throughout the machining process to detect issues.
  • Ensures coolant and hydraulic oil levels are maintained and changed as required. Performs routine PM checks.
  • Performs inventory material handling including retrieving, moving and storage of material, tooling, and work-pieces.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 "S" standards. Complies with safety rules including PPE and OSHA standards.
  • Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion and over-processing.
  • Ability to utilize ERP system for data collection, time and attendance.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities).

Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or helpful)
  • Prior CNC Operator experience.
  • Experience in general manufacturing role.
