Summary

Based in Andover, MA, the HIP Operator will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Operations Supervisor to meet customer specifications. Duties include operating equipment in the Control Room, monitoring cycles, sampling gases, completing documentation, and assisting with building, boxing, loading, and unloading cycles.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Build and box cycles, loading/unloading customer parts onto, into or out of the units, baskets, tubs, racks or other containers as required.
  • Independently operate, control and monitor unit equipment following written procedures and customer paperwork.
  • Operate equipment in the Control Room.
  • Create and correct load diagrams.
  • Update KPI database.
  • Conduct gas analysis, use proper compressor settings, and manage reclaimed gas.
  • Run cycles at optimal temperatures and pressures within allowed deltas.
  • Determine placement and use of thermocouples for temperature readings.
  • Set venting temperature and select appropriate can/ring size for loading parts.
  • Follow established work procedures, control measures, PPE requirements, and SHE rules.
  • Respect all guards, barriers, and permits.
  • Cooperate with health screening and surveillance procedures as required.
  • Report any unusual problems, irregularities or concerns immediately to Supervisor or management.
  • Operate forklift and crane.
  • Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Adopt safe practices to protect customer inventory and prevent loss or damage.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, direction-following, coworker interaction, rule adherence, and receptiveness to constructive criticism.
Qualifications
  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with heat‑treatment operation and/or drinking/waste water management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
  • May be required to work overtime, shifts, or weekends.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Work standing for extended periods in an industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise and humidity.
  • Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Visual acuity to read documents and screens.
  • Acoustic ability to communicate in person and via phone.
Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range is $23–$24 per hour, with starting pay determined by experience, skills and qualifications. This position is classified as non‑exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. The role is not eligible for additional compensation or shift differential. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, vision coverage; company‑paid life and disability; HSA/FSA options; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and paid holidays; and an Employee Assistance Program. Benefits eligibility begins on day 61 of employment.
