Plant Handling - Operator

Summary of Job

The Machine Operator is expected to safely and efficiently stage the necessary material for the daily operation; perform machine set‑up and operate the line to produce finished products that meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The operator may need to assist with or operate other equipment, assist on the extrusion lines, or in the shipping area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Load WIP rolls of material on to the unwinds.
• Set up the machine for various products.
• Safely and efficiently produce products to the required specifications.
• Remove excess trim scrap and throw away in compactor or place in recycling area.
• Meet or exceed production quantity and quality standards.
• Perform quality checks.
• Operate the bandsaw safely and efficiently.
• Relocate the finished pallet to the designated storage area.
• Work up to a 12‑hour shift as needed.
• Read accurately up to 1/32” on a measuring device like a tape measure.
• Assist with other production assets as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Assist on or operate other manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as required.
• Track production data as required.
• Exposure to moving equipment.
• Humidity may exceed 80%.

Physical Characteristics

• Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs).

Position Type

• Full time.
• Shift work: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred.
