Job summary

CMC is hiring a manufacturing operator in Polo, IL to support fabrication operations and loading/unloading of rebar on trailers. You will learn equipment, follow safety procedures, and contribute to a clean, efficient work area while meeting production targets.

You'll train on various machines, cross-train with teammates, and participate in safety programs to uphold CMC's safety culture. Strong work ethic and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions.
• Willing to cross-train as required.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies.
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits.
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues.
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed.
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Crosstrain on multiple machines
• Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
