OVERVIEW

The Walsh Group is seeking an Operator Engineer Mechanic/Crawler Crane Service Technician for the Service Group Chicago/Equipment Department in Chicago, IL.

The Technician will work in our facility repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining cranes and heavy-duty construction equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Collaborate with the production team to assess needs for each crane.
2. Work with other technicians to perform maintenance and repairs.
3. Conduct run tests on cranes before shipment.
4. Travel locally and out of town for assembly, disassembly, training, and testing at job sites.
5. Participate in Manitowoc training (preferred).
6. Perform crane inspections as needed.
7. Assist with unplanned breakdown repairs, sometimes at short notice.
8. Work overtime as necessary.
9. Attend recruitment events as required.
10. Contribute to additional projects within the region.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Adherence to safety policies and effective communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Willingness to become and remain a union member.
