Job summary

Greenbrier Central, LLC is seeking an Operator 1 to operate a variety of machinery and fabricate railcar component parts to meet close tolerances. The role requires working in a production environment with safety and quality as priorities.

The position requires 6+ months of experience operating manufacturing equipment, ability to use a computer, and the capacity to work in a team or independently. This is a full-time, onsite role based in US-MO-Jackson, with PPE provided and growth opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and grinds products using grinders, tables or conveyor systems.
  • Uses hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, and ratchets.
  • Monitors output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Adjusts parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Conducts regular inspections of parts produced through measurements.
  • Reads drawings and follows production standards.
  • Uses common measuring equipment such as tape measures.

Summary

The Operator 1 is responsible for operating a variety of machinery such as saws, presses, and drills to fabricate railcar component parts to meet close and complex tolerances.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Assembles and grinds products such as carbon and stainless steel, or aluminum, using grinders, tables or conveyor systems.
  • Uses hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, and ratchets.
  • Monitors output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Adjusts parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Conducts regular inspections of parts produced through measurements.
  • Reads drawings and follows production standards.
  • Uses common measuring equipment such as tape measures.

  • Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment.
