Job summary

Atkore International in Harvey, IL is seeking a Material Handling Operator for the 3rd shift (11pm-7am, M-F with some Saturdays). The role focuses on transporting, storing and stacking materials and operating a handheld scanner.

You will use a yard tractor to relocate trailers, verify shipments for size, length, gauge, count, part numbers, and damage, and load trucks and LTL while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Material Handling Operator to be based out of Harvey, IL. We are currently searching for a Material Handling Operator to be based out of Harvey, IL. The job will be off shift -- meaning either 2nd (3pm-11pm, M-F, occasional Saturdays) or 3rd Shift (11pm-7am, M-F, occasional Saturdays). Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handling Operator will be responsible to transport, store and stack all materials.

What you'll do:

• Use yard tractor, relocate trailers.
• Pick, check and process all material being shipped for correct size, length, gauge, piece count, bundle tags, part number and damage.
• Load trucks and LTL
• Transport, store and stack all materials
• Operate a handheld scanner and utilize a variety of printed work instructions as part of daily work assignment

What you'll bring:

• Experience in industrial warehousing
• Spotter tractor experience
• Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Show progress and/or complete job specific training
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
• Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
