Job summary

Exyte in New Jersey seeks a motivated Blast Technician to operate sandblasting cabinet and large blast booth equipment, handle and prep products, and assist with masking tasks. Daily duties include lifting, moving, and positioning parts for processing.

You will perform Quality Control inspections to verify parts meet specifications entering and exiting the Blast department. The role requires standing up to 10 hours daily, lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, and working in a fast-paced environment;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Pass a PFT exam if using supplied air system.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting cabinet and large blast booth equipment.
• Handle products and perform masking/prepping.
• Perform quality control inspections on products entering & exiting the department; ensure parts meet specifications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and use hoists as required.
• Maintain a safe, organized Blast department and support related tasks.

The primary responsibilities of this position include product handling, operation of blasting equipment & performing quality inspections.

• Operation of both sandblasting cabinet & large blast booth equipment
• Daily duties include product handling, lifting, prepping/masking of product
• Must feel comfortable with the operation of lifting devices (hoist) while handling larger product
• Individuals will also be responsible for performing Quality Control inspections on product entering & exiting department; ensuring product meets specification
• Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary

Work Environment

The noise level in the production area is usually moderately loud. The Blast department is a sectioned off area of the production floor. Various blasting, grinding, inspecting and welding tasks are performed within the Blast department.

• Safety glasses and hearing protection are required when in the production area
• PPE covering eyes and skin is required when welding or heat induced cutting
• PPE covering hands and face is required when grinding
• PPE is required while working in the large blast booth
