Job summary

Aspire Bakeries is seeking an Operator 1, Bakery- Box Maker at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. You will operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment to ensure a steady supply of properly formed boxes and inserted bags that meet product specs, food safety, and production schedules.

The role supports packaging efficiency and uninterrupted production, with a 3rd shift and hourly pay of $20. Prior manufacturing experience and ability to read schedules, basic math, and Excel skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of manufacturing experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read production schedules, operating instructions, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic math including decimals, fractions, and operations.
• Ability to apply common-sense problem-solving in standard tasks.
• Basic computer proficiency and Excel familiarity.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operate box forming, bag inserting, and box taping equipment.
• Verify packaging materials, machine settings, and product specs.
• Conduct quality checks on seals, strength, and packaging integrity.
• Adjust equipment for different sizes and changesover.
• Report equipment issues to leadership and support teams.
• Maintain GMP and food safety compliance throughout operations.
• Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.

About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 1, Bakery- Box Maker to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator 1, Bakery-Box Maker, you will be accountable for operating, monitoring, and adjusting packaging equipment to ensure a continuous supply of properly formed boxes and inserted bags that meet product specifications, food safety requirements, and production schedules. This role is vital to maintaining packaging efficiency, product quality, and uninterrupted production flow.

Hourly Pay Rate: $20

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Operate and monitor box forming, bag inserting, and box taping equipment to support packaging operations.
• Verify packaging materials, machine settings, and product specifications to ensure production readiness.
• Conduct quality checks on bag seals, box strength, and packaging integrity to meet product standards.
• Adjust and change over packaging equipment to accommodate varying product and case size requirements.
• Communicate equipment performance issues and maintenance needs to leadership and support teams.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, and safety standards throughout operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through problem-solving, defect identification, and operational excellence activities.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience and/or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, operating instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use sound reasoning and apply common-sense problem-solving in standardized work situations.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new software systems.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, assist with lifting up to 50 pounds, and safely work around moving production equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Prior experience operating packaging, case erecting, bag inserting, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods environments.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
• Experience participating in continuous improvement or root cause analysis activities.
• Ability to train or support team members on standard operating procedures and equipment operation.
