Job summary

ASR Group operates in the cane sugar industry with refineries and production facilities. We are seeking an Operator to learn all production aspects, including loading/unloading bulk sugar, melt processing, and packaging, following defined procedures.

The role requires strong English communication, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime, holidays and weekend work may be required at our Chicago area facility.

Qualifications

• Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing or similar industry required.
• Prior experience troubleshooting equipment strongly preferred.
• Prior experience operating a forklift preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for equipment start up and observation of possible malfunctions.
• Reports malfunctions to supervisor and makes minor adjustments or repairs (i.e. opening valves).
• Executes bulk load/unloading and packaging processes according to process/procedure.
• Performs quality control in accordance to standardized process/procedure.
• Completes all necessary paperwork according to process/procedure.
• Replenishes packaging supplies as necessary.
• Open to cross-functional training in all areas of operation.
• Participates in customer/federal audits as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.

OVERVIEW

• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
