Job summary

Precise Aerospace Manufacturing in Yorba Linda, CA is seeking a Molding Operator to run plastic injection molding machines, producing aerospace components while upholding AS9100D quality and safety standards. You will perform in-process inspections, record production data, troubleshoot minor machine issues, and manage changeovers and mold maintenance.

Shift is 6am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday; a high school diploma and strong attention to detail, teamwork, and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following safety protocols.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operations & Production: Set up, start, and operate plastic injections molding machines according to procedures and production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and material usage to ensure output and minimize waste.
  • Perform material handling duties such as loading/unloading resin, monitoring dryers, and verifying materials.
  • Troubleshoot common machine and tooling issues, escalating complex problems to supervisor or maintenance.
  • Ensure molds are properly installed, cleaned, and maintained to prevent damage and extend tool life.
  • Adhere to production schedules, reporting delays or downtime promptly.
  • Assist with changeovers and setups for different part numbers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Quality & Documentation: Perform in-process inspections and verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and part integrity.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm conformance.
  • Complete inspection documentation in compliance with AS9100D and customer requirements.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and notify Quality or Supervisor.
  • Support FAIs with accurate samples and documentation when needed.
  • Maintain lot control and traceability of materials and parts.
  • Follow procedures for deviations, rework, or scrap.
  • Team Support: Assist with training new operators and perform other duties as assigned.

The Molding Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality aerospace and precision components. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring parts meet established specifications, and upholding safety and quality stands in compliance with AS9100D guidelines. The molding Operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting minor machine issues, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining accurate production records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operations & Production

  • Perform material handling duties such as loading/unloading resin, monitoring dryers, and verifying correct materials are used
  • Troubleshoot common machine and tooling issues, escalating complex problems to Molding Supervisor or Maintenance as needed
  • Ensure molds are properly installed, cleaned, and maintained to prevent damage and extend tool life
  • Adhere to production schedules, reporting any delays or equipment downtime promptly
  • Assist with changeovers and setups for different part numbers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Quality & Documentation
  • Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall part integrity
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm part conformance
  • Complete required inspection documentation in compliance with AS9100D and customer requirements
  • Identify nonconforming parts, properly segregate them, and notify Quality or the Supervisor immediately
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAIs) by providing accurate samples and proves documentation when needed
  • Maintain Lot control and traceability of all materials and parts throughout the production process
  • Follow establish procedures for handling and documenting deviations, rework, or scrap

Qualifications
