This position operates all designated production lines in an efficient manner, with adherence to quality, safety, and material specification sheet guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for the setup, calibration, and operation of machining equipment used to produce or modify products. Works from written specifications, inspects machining operations, documents line performance, and compares finished product against specified quality tolerances.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Set-Up:
- CompletesIn-ProcessForms(forproduct,item,temperature,mixingspeed,changeincodes,or newitems).
- Ensuresproperdocumentation,double-checks,andsigns-offonallQualityAssurance,Line Release, Pick-Ticket paperwork,etc.
- Ensures proper equipment set-ups(e.g.,temperature,speed,mixingweights,seals,functionalityof thepackaging,correctcountforWIPcases,properskidconfigurationperspecificationsheet).
- Ensures proper line clearances (i.e., keeping the area clear of any components other than order running on the line, log sheets, etc.).
Set-Up (Quality Checks):
- Checksthephysicalpropertyoftheproductandfinishedproduct(e.g.,bubbles,scrapsonsurfaces, foreign matter, color is within specification, no un-melted wax, aerated product, or inconsistent viscosity).
- ChecksforproperdocumentationwhilerunningtheLine(e.g.,QualityAssurancepaperwork,hourly checks,SPC,MaterialAccountability,scrapreporting,properproductyieldcalculation,etc.).
- InterpretsandfollowsaMaterialSpecificationSheetandLineOperatingManualformulti-functioning machines.
- Documentsandchecksthetotalqualityofdelivereditemstotheline.
- Ensurestheaccuracyofbatch/logcodenumbersofpump,tank,hopper,tube(container),andcarton, packer, and shipperlabels.
- Operates assigned machines in a safemanner.
- RecordsdataeveryhourontheIn-ProcessControlsDailyFillingLineInspection.
- DocumentsthescrapoftheitemswitheverylotnumberontheMaterialAccountabilitySheet.
- Checkstheweight,code,andexpirydatesthroughouttheproductionrun.
- Checkstheproducthoppersoasnottoruntooloworempty.
- Ensures glue pots do not run low or empty throughout the run. If not running after shift is over, place the glue pots on standby. If line is going to be down for the weekend, turn off glue pots.
- Maintains a clean and organized production line and area
- Enters booking into Adage at the end of the run or shift.
- Ensures that all packaging online corresponds with Manufacturing Specification Sheet.
- Ensures the accuracy of batch/log code numbers on pump, tank, hopper, tube (container), carton, packer, and shipper labels.
- Ensures that established Company quality standards are being followed by operators and packers.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- EnsuresthatlinepersonnelarefollowingBlistexguidelines(i.e.,GMP,Safety,OSHA,FDA,etc.).
- NotifiesGroupLeader,AssistantGroupLeader,ProductionMechanicorQualityAssurancepersonnel, when respective problemsarise.
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities, as may be required by the Supervisor, Production, Manager, Production and/or Director, Manufacturing.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Theknowledgeandskillsrequiredforthispositionaretypicallyacquiredin1to2yearsofexperiencein a productionenvironment
- MusthaveacomprehensiveunderstandingofGMP,OSHA,FDA,andotherrelatedguidelinesandbe able toapply.
- Musthavefamiliaritywithproductionequipment.
- Must possessgoodmathematicalaptitude(addition,subtraction,multiplicationanddivision).
- Mustbeabletoconvertpounds,ounces,kilos,grams,andotherliquidmeasurements.
- Must possess good oralandwrittencommunicationskills.
- MustbecomputerliterateinaWindowsenvironment(i.e.,basicdataentry).
