Job summary

Chart, Inc. is seeking an on-site Operator in New Iberia, LA. The role involves operating forklifts and mobile cranes, handling loads safely, and supporting ongoing projects from fabrication to installation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, four years of related equipment experience, and crane operation certification (may be obtained on the job). The position is safety sensitive and based on-site in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of work as an operator and other tasks on ongoing projects.
• Operate forklift and mobile crane equipment to move materials around the yard and warehouse.
• Has working knowledge of spreaders, slings and chokers as to strength and placement on loads.
• Lifts, moves and places loads, exercising care for the safety of other employees, material, property and equipment.
• Assist in receiving and load out.
• Receive general instructions from foreman but uses some initiative and judgement as to procedure and method of movements.
• Receives guidance by signal from other workers but is responsible for seeing that these signals can be safely followed.
• Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• This position is classified as safety sensitive. Due to the use of heavy machinery, power tools, and/or exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, the role requires heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols. Employees must be able to perform duties in a manner that ensures their own safety and the safety of others in the workplace
• This position is located on site in New Iberia, LA
• The estiamted starting rate is 23.50

Your Experience Should Be...

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• General knowledge of fabrication tools and parts
• Four years experience with related equipment
• Crane operation certification required (May be obtained on-the-job)
• Education may be substituted by extended experience
