Job summary

Premium Metals, Inc. is seeking an Operator I to support maintenance and production processes in a busy steel plant. Under general supervision, you will assist with coil loading, machine operation, and quality checks, while following safety policies.

Candidates should read measurements, use tape measures and calipers, and be able to work flexible hours in a drug-free environment. Benefits include a 401(k) with company match and health, dental, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders and memos written in English.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
  • Demonstrated dependability in attendance and ability to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Wear protective equipment as required by safety policy and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through good housekeeping and safe practices.
  • Verify and record product identification.
  • Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil.
  • Ensure material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment per safety and quality policies.
  • Make adjustments to ensure material tracking/stacking.
  • Perform in-process visual inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, the Operator I position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved involving the general maintenance and operations processes; basic understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
