Job summary

Sotera Health’s Sterigenics facility in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Operator to monitor and operate the sterilization system. You will observe pressure, temperature, and humidity, turn valves, document readings, and report any issues to supervisors while assisting with maintenance as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or GED, has 6–12 months in a sterilization setting, can read/write/speak fluent English, and can lift up to 50 pounds.

  • 6–12 months of experience in a sterilization environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive lifting.
  • Willingness to work established shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the sterilization system by observing pressure, temperature and humidity on charts or computer monitors.
  • Turn valves and adjust controls to ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Observe sterilizers and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and assist with repairs.
  • Document and record process readings.
  • Report any damaged product or system problems to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform daily/weekly equipment preventative maintenance tasks; assist maintenance as required.
  • Store and remove chemicals per procedures and laws; follow safety rules.
  • Participate on plant safety committees and uphold safety regulations.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and Certified Operators.
