Job summary

Sotera Health seeks an Operator to monitor sterilization systems in our Charlotte, NC facility. The role involves observing critical process parameters, adjusting controls, and reporting issues to supervisors to ensure product safety and quality. You will participate in maintenance tasks and safety programs as part of daily operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English fluency, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Certification within 18 months is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6–12 months experience in a sterilization environment preferred.
  • Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds; occasional strenuous movements.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred.
  • Operator Certification must be completed within 18 months.
  • EO sterilization experience desirable.
  • Must tolerate high temperatures and humidity (120F, 60% RH for 20 minutes).
  • Must be medically approved for respirator use.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor sterilization system, observing pressure, temperature and humidity.
  • Turn valves and adjust controls to ensure safe operation.
  • Observe sterilizers and auxiliaries to detect malfunctions and assist repairs.
  • Document and record process readings.
  • Report damaged product or system problems to supervisors.
  • Perform daily/weekly equipment preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with handling chemicals per procedures and laws.
  • Participate in plant safety committees and follow safety rules.
