Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking an Operative Clinical Technician to support the nurse in the Operating Room across pediatrics to geriatrics. The role ensures a clean, safe, and sterile environment in line with infection control guidelines.

Under close supervision, you will prepare rooms, move sterile equipment, and assist with patient care and supply management. You will coordinate specimen and lab transport and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience is required.
• BLS CPR certification (American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider) is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OR is clean and safe per hospital and Infection Control guidelines.
• Prepare rooms for new patients to maintain room availability.
• Relocate OR equipment to provide sterile equipment for surgery.
• Provide care for patients under nurse supervision and organize care plans.
• Monitor supply levels of items like linens to maintain comfort.
• Coordinate transportation of specimens, patients, and labs to connect resources with patient needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Operative Clinical Technician supports the nurse in the Operating Room in medical procedures for pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Working under close supervision, this role ensures that the Operating Room is clean and safe in line with hospital and Infection Control guidelines.

Essential Job Function

• Ensures that the Operating Room is clean and safe in accordance with the hospital and Infection Control guidelines in order to provide a sterile environment.
• Prepares rooms for new patients as directed by the nurse to provide sufficient room availability for upcoming surgeries.
• Relocates Operating Room equipment to various locations in the hospital so that nurses are provided with all necessary sterile equipment for surgery.
• Provides care for patients under the supervision of the nurse in order to organize patient care plans and treatments.
• Monitors supply levels of necessary items like linens to provide a comfortable environment for patients.
• Handles the responses to requests for the transportation of specimens, patients, and labs in order to connect the proper resources with patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
