GRMC Recognized and Certified as is seeking an Operating Room - Nursing - Surgical Technician to assist surgeons, anesthesia and nursing staff in the OR. The role involves equipment setup, sterile technique, and ensuring all necessary tools and medications are ready before cases.

Two years of Surgical Technician experience is preferred, with formal Surgical Technician training and current BLS Certification required. The position may involve work in other hospital areas as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a formal, accredited Surgical Technician training program or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Surgical Technician preferred.
• Current BLS Certification
• Knowledge of anatomy related to procedures
• Understanding of asepsis and sterile technique

Responsabilités

• Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses and other professionals in the operating room.
• Assembles and troubleshoots all equipment needed for procedures and ensures equipment is ready before a case.
• Maintains sterile technique and assists in room preparation, including medication handling as applicable.

Operating Room - Nursing - Surgical Technician

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

Graduate from a formal, accredited Surgical Technician training program or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

Two (2) years of experience as a Surgical Technician preferred.

Required Licenses / Certifications

Current BLS Certification

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy related to procedure.
• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques used by various surgeons for various procedures.
• Able to assemble and troubleshoot all equipment as necessary for procedure.
• Ensures all necessary equipment is in the room prior to the start of a case, including nonnarcotic medications (e.g., Lidocaine).
• Able to safely operate all electrosurgical equipment, diagnostic equipment, microscopic laser equipment, video equipment, and disposable equipment, as well as equipment unique to each specialty area.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of asepsis and consistently maintains sterile technique
