Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking an Operative Clinical Technician to support the Operating Room team. The role involves maintaining a sterile, safe OR environment and assisting with room turnover between surgeries.

Under supervision, you will prepare rooms, move equipment, and ensure patient care plans are organized. BLS/CPR certification is required, along with at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of related experience is required.
• BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Operating Room is clean and safe in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.
• Prepare rooms for new patients to ensure room availability for upcoming surgeries.
• Relocate operating room equipment to provide nurses with sterile equipment for procedures.
• Provide care for patients under nurse supervision to support care plans.
• Monitor supply levels to maintain a comfortable environment for patients.
• Handle requests for transporting specimens, patients, and labs to connect resources with patient needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Operative Clinical Technician supports the nurse in the Operating Room in medical procedures for pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Working under close supervision, this role ensures that the Operating Room is clean and safe in line with hospital and Infection Control guidelines.

Essential Job Function

• Ensures that the Operating Room is clean and safe in accordance with the hospital and Infection Control guidelines in order to provide a sterile environment.
• Prepares rooms for new patients as directed by the nurse to provide sufficient room availability for upcoming surgeries.
• Relocates Operating Room equipment to various locations in the hospital so that nurses are provided with all necessary sterile equipment for surgery.
• Provides care for patients under the supervision of the nurse in order to organize patient care plans and treatments.
• Monitors supply levels of necessary items like linens to provide a comfortable environment for patients.
• Handles the responses to requests for the transportation of specimens, patients, and labs in order to connect the proper resources with patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
